Hello!

Hi, I just stumbled on your forum while investigating Ataxia. My daughter aged 10 has just this week been diagnosed as having a spinocerebeller Ataxia with evident shrinkage of her Cerebellum.
We are in a bit of shock just now even though she has had physical difficulties from around the age of 1 year and is Autistic.
I just need to maybe communicate with others with this condition or with children with it.
She is due to have a heart scan and her eyes checked as soon as they can send us an appointment.
Thanks
april

Hi ((April)). I love the name April. One of my daughter's best friends is named April.

I'm so sorry about your daughter. I understand your shock. Some very good friends just found out their little boy, under age 2, has what is called Angelman's Syndrome. He'll never be normal.

You may also want to visit the Autism Forum.

Visit anywhere you want! We jump all over the place but mostly hang out in our 'home' forums.

The people here are absolutely amazing, and the founder of our forums, Doc John, is an incredibly wonderful man. You'll find the moderators are just as incredible.

Again, welcome.

Welcome to NeuroTalk, April! It sure sounds like you have your hands full with the little one. I'm sorry you have to go through this with her but also glad she has such a caring mom who is prepared to learn and do all that you can to meet her needs.

This is a terrific community and I'm sure you'll find yourself enveloped in support in short time. Just let us know how we can help, and I'll see you around.:)

Thanks for welcoming me

Thankyou to all of you for saying hello and for making me feel welcome.
Doody, you said that most of you stay in their home forums, is that this one for the peeps that replied to me? How do I go to the Autism forum etc.
I have also had my share of Neuro type difficulties but for now I will concentrate on my daughter.
Nice to meet you all.
april:)

You are welcome at all the forums...I mostly hang out at Survivors of Suicide because our son killed himself years ago.

For what's its worth... My 7 year old grandaughter was diagnosed with candida last week. While I was searching online for information on this... I did notice several "connections" between autism and candida.
