Poem (first of several to follow)

I do not know the author of the poem below and am unable to give credit to the source. I hope it is OK to post it.

"I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too.
I think of you in silence I often speak your name,
all I have are memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part
God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart."

Hopeless 11-22-2015 12:52 PM

Another poem of which I know not the author.

Quote:

Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart
Your spirit lives within me, forever in my heart.

Hopeless 11-22-2015 12:55 PM

Third poem of which I know not the author. This is a short version of "The Broken Chain" poem.

Quote:

"Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same
but as God calls us one by one the Chain will link again."

Hopeless 11-22-2015 12:57 PM

Fourth one. Again, I do not know the author in order to give credit.

Quote:

There are no tears in Heaven,
nor grief of any kind:
I leave this final teardrop
to those I've left behind.
Though absent from the body,
I'm present with the Lord:
the joy of my salvation
is now my full reward.

OK, number 5. Again, author unknown to me so I can't give proper credit.
Quote:

"A heart of gold stopped beating,
two willing hands at rest,
God broke our hearts
to prove to us,
He only takes the best."

Another poem of which I know not the author and unable to give proper credit.

Quote:

Though your smile
is gone forever,
and your hand I cannot touch,
I still have many memories
of the one I loved so much.
Your memory is my
keepsake with which
I’ll never part.
God has you in His keeping,
I have you in my heart.
Sadly missed,
but never forgotten.

Hopeless 11-22-2015 01:07 PM

Author unknown to me and unable to give credit due them.

Quote:

Please do not grieve for me, for now
I’m following the path God
laid out for me.

I took His hand when
I heard Him call, I turned my back
and left it all.

If my parting has left
a void, then fill it with remembered
joys; a friendship shared, a laugh, a
kiss, oh yes, these things I too will
miss. Be burdened not with time
of sorrow, I wish you sunshine for
each tomorrow.

My life’s been full,
I savored much; good friends, good
times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps
my time seemed all too brief, don’t
lengthen it now with undue grief,
lift up your hearts and peace to thee,
God wanted me now,
He set me free

OK, the last poem for now. I have some others I will share later.

Again, author unknown to me so I am unable to give proper credit.

He Only Takes the Best

Quote:

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
so He put his arms around you and
whispered “Come with Me.”
With tear filled eyes we watched
as you suffered and faded away,
although we loved you deeply we
could not will you to stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to show us,
“He Only Takes The Best.”
