Functional Capicity Evaluation

I have TOS and a brachial plexus injury, lung damage and shoulder damage.I am six months out of nerve surgery and getting ready to do it again. I have been on work comp for a little over two years now. I was told today that my former employer and work comp were requesting a FCE. Any thoughts on this? I have read they aren't accurate and benefit the employer and work comp. I always think work comp is not being truthful but I just don't know even though they say it's for rehab.

Do you have your own lawyer & your own doctors?
They should be advising you on this, as they should know what your sx & pain levels are .. and the delayed pain effect after FCE?

Do you get delayed pain from activities?
Hopefully you have a long time /ongoing relationship with you doctors and their records should show pain levels and any delayed pain instances after certain activities.

For some of us the FCE might be misleading due to the delayed pain, after the test hours or days pain will increase.
Everyone’s version /or level of injury from TOS is so different, it is hard to say for sure.
But you do have multiple issues also... I would avoid it unless you feel you actually could do it.

Yes I have had the same doctors, (6) of them for two years. They are all different from vascular surgeons, orthopedic and neurologist along with the same (2) physical therapist fort the last two years also. I am six out of rib resection and have another one scheduled for January.
Work comp is trying to tell me that the doctors and therapist aren't telling them my limitations and restrictions, which I find hard to believe. In Wyoming work comp usually pays wages for two years and I am past that by a month. They say my former employer is questioning this. And they admitted to me that it is about money!
I asked the therapist company how they could determine my limitations and restrictions from one small little test? They couldn't answer. Not sure what to do?

Now today I receive a letter saying I have an appointment for an impairment rating! I am still under three doctors care, I have a surgery pending. What the hell? I thought I couldn't get rated until the doctors said there was no more they could do? I am dumbfounded by this crap.
