nevro implant

Hi I,m getting a nevro implanted in me on Dec. 4th. I have two St. Jude implanted over the last 12 years. Both times no relief. I've had 11 back operation over the last 20 years and now have hardware from T11 to S1. Now the hard question. My doctor is going to hook the Nevro battery to my St. Jude paddle. Has anyone had this done before? This will be the first for my doctor and my Nevro Rep.
Thank You

Hello and welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups. :Wave-Hello:

You could check on the
SCS & Pain Pumps SubForum
for information from others regarding the Nevro. There may be someone who has been in the same situation or similar.

There is also a
Chronic Pain Forum

I'm sure you'll find information and support here at NeuroTalk.

take care

Hi and Welcome,

I am curious if your doc has given a reason why they think the two prior devices didn't work for you. Keep in mind I ask this as someone who does not have an SCS. It just made me wonder if your current paddle placement was not optimal or if something else could have happened with it....
Did your initial trial work?

If you have any unanswered questions that you need put to rest before surgery by all means consult your doctor ahead of time.

I hope you find relief soon and have a rapid recovery.
Sending hugs and healing love,

He doesn't know why. It has to do with the length of time that I have been in pain. Now he is very high on the Nevro system. The only thing is if it will work with the St. Jude paddle. You come to a point where you will try anything to get out of pain. I can not take pain pills so this something that I will try. The worst thing that can happen is it doesn't work. Time will tell.
