earplugs during sleep
 

i'm trying out earplugs to help my sleep. the stupid thing is it hurts to sleep on the side when they are in your ear and since i turn at night i actually end up waking myself up because of the pain (everything wakes me up these days). has anyone else experienced this or come up with any good solutions? silly question but practically important for me.

I sleep with foam ear plugs occasionally. Basically, when my wife is snoring, even lightly. No way I can sleep with sounds like that. Early on, I slept with them every night. The slightest sound was annoying.

I need to put the ear plug in deep.

If you use foam plugs, you could try trimming them shorter so they fit better. You could also try different brands. Some are softer than others.

Lots of different kinds of plugs and for some folks it does take a bit to get adjusted to.

Be careful you don't compact any earwax and lookout for any soreness that might lead to ear infections. When I was backpacking and sleeping in hostels I used the wax type ear plugs which you can soften and mold.
