Voltaren 1.16 gel
I used this a few nights ago on my Bicep Tendinitis. Just for the heck of it I put a little on my lower back where I suspect much of my neuropathy comes from. It stopped the burning in my back and most of the burning in my legs. The next day the burning was lighter. I have repeated the experiment for the last 3 days with similar results. I did wake up to a slight twitch last night but the Mortons took it away.
I have an appointment next month with a muscular skeletal doctor. I wanted someone other than a neurologist to look at my MRI's. I have been to this doctor before for a hip issue and I liked him a lot. I know it is foolish to believe that it could be this simple to have gotten more definitive proof that my lumbar is the cause. However, I can't help hoping. Does it make any sense to you. Please tell me what you think. (Btw I know I can't continue to use the gel indefinitely.) |

I wish you could use it forever without consequence. Too bad that isn't the case. I'm glad it is providing relief for now, though.

Long term use of Voltaren (diclofenac) gel may cause liver damage.
This would be everyday for weeks or months. Occasional use is still not showing much risk. |
I know another woman that happened to.
She had lumbar fusion and had been told it was a possibility that it may lead to further breakdown because it transfers stress to the next level in the spine. Something about changing the biomechanics of the back. I feel like that happens to people with joint replacements also. I see them either needing the other side done or another joint.
Thank you for your response. Your support is a appreciated. After I posted I started to feel like I should delete as my conclusion may have been a bit silly. I want so badly to find the cause that sometimes I feel I am going crazy. You know, "The lunatic is in my head" sorta thing. ("Brain Damage" by Pink Floyd) I hope your wife is doing ok. Quote:

For sure on body changes with these surgeries. Be they fusions, replacements etc.
I'll live with what I'm left with since hip replacement. Not lovin it, but that is what I got. A cousin had a hip done last June and I'm hearing his back is bothering him. My neighbor had a posterior fusion lower back and talking to him the other day, he says his hip is giving him problems. He's only a year out so a lot can change. We can end up so OFF. Messing with mother nature. But we all have positive intentions. |
