Meet Your Moderator

My name is Kamie, also known as Katie in "real life", and I am the moderator of the Child Neurology and Stroke forums.

As a moderator I am here to help you and to help this forum be a safe supportive community. You are my #1 priority here.

I know you guys are accustomed to a very different style of moderation at the old braintalk where the moderators were hidden behind a number and moderated without warning or discussion. I will never be that type of moderator. And if I am, I should be removed at once. DocJohn and Kimmydawn will not allow that sort of behavior from the moderators here.

If and when I have to take action as a moderator, you will always know the reason why, and you will never be "in trouble" with me for asking me questions about my reasons for my actions. Infact, the moderators work together and discuss what actions they will take when there is a question. We are not allowed to make rash decisions. We work as a team and think and discuss the issues before we act.

If you have a qustion about my actions or disagree with me or my actions, please let me know. Please also let DocJohn and Kimmydawn know. I will be open and honest with everyone here.

As a part of the moderation team, I am here to work with all of you to make this forum a safe and supportive community. Again, YOU are the focus here. We care about YOU and making YOU happy.

If anyone had any questions or concerns, feel free to ask them in this thread, or you can send me a Private Message or email by clicking on my username and choosing that option.

Below is some general information about the BrainTalk2 forums -

DocJohn (the administrator of BrainTalk2) has recently created the new community guidelines which can be viewed here-
http://forums.braintalk2.org/showthread.php?t=1293

If you would like to discuss the community guidelines or if you hae questions about them, DocJohn made a feedback/discussion thread in the Community & Forum Feedback forum, a link to that thread is here -
http://forums.braintalk2.org/showthread.php?t=1294

Or feel free to contact me with any questions/concerns about the guidelines.

nice to meet you

Hi Kamie. Thank you for doing this. I've sent you a personal e-mail, but have not received a response. Will all the forums from the previous braintalk be added? I am hoping that the site dedicated to my precious boys will be re-opened. I know there wasn't a lot of activity on the Norrie forum, but would like it to stay open in hopes that someone will stumble across it. Norrie is a very RARE disease and there is so little known about it. Being able to talk to someone who has experienced the disease first hand could be crucial to a newly dx'd kiddo. Please let me know what I can do to see that this site re-opens.

Sincerley,
Mama Sue

Sue,

My appologies for not responding to your email.

This is *not* the original Braintalk Community. DocJohn created these forums as a safe haven for folks from the original Braintalk to go to while Braintalk has suffered a catastrophic outage since July 8, 2006.

DocJohn has no association with the original BT outside of knowing John Lester as a professional acquaintance.
If you want to try to retrive your posts from the original Braintalk community while it is down, try what these people are doing here http://forums.braintalk2.org/showthread.php?t=1699 . I am pretty sure they can help you with this.

Now as for your questions about if your old posts will be put back up or if the site reopens, I cannot answer that. The only person who can is John Lester. I am rather optimistic that the original Braintalk will be back up and running eventually. I have not given up on John Lester yet. And please note that when that site is back up and running that we will still be here too. There is more than enough room on the internet for us to both co-exist. :) However, we will be chaning our name from Braintalk2 to something to be determined.
