Lost control of my 6th sense (proprioception) on right side of my body
Hi there,
I was ill with the flu about a week ago, and three days ago, for no reason whatsoever, the entire right side of my body started veering to the left. I was drinking a cup of tea, and when bringing the cup of tea to my mouth the cup would wind up resting against my left cheek. I was walking like I was drunk, and can still feel the pull, but it wasn't as bad a three days ago. At first I thought I might be having a stroke, but I'm only 29 so I didn't think that that was the normal age to have a stroke at. Anyway it wasn't that, but Oliver Sacks wrote quite extensively on this loss of the 'sixth sense'[. It's nothing major, but any suggestions? Thanks a million, Chris |
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.
It would be a good idea to discuss what has happened with your Doctor. If this happened when you have flu symptoms, I would wonder if it was related to a sinus or ear infection or blockage of some sort that has temporarily affected your Vestibular system. I'm just guessing and guessing doesn't really help, so please get checked by a Doctor. |
could be ear problem see your GP to check your ears

See a doctor first, then just advice maybe to try AFTER seeing a doctor:
!. Try not to relay solely on vision when walking or doing. 2. Call on muscle/physical memory if needed. When I started having vertigo and unsteadiness at beginning of my MS. these things helped me. But see a doctor first!!!! Ears (vestibular) and other things might play a role. |
