I have a psych n he seems to be leaning to schizophrenic. When you first were diagnosed did you know that you were not psychologically right? Did you know something was going on mentally? thanks in advance.

Hi Ghostwatts,

I remember your name from the TBI/PCS forum and I just wanted to say 'hi' and to also let you know that this is a fairly quiet forum at NeuroTalk and if you don't get replies that you could always try the subforum at the sister site Psychcentral.

Dear Ghostwatts,
Happy New Year!

When I was first diagnosed, I hid symptoms from my psychiatrist. I knew I had problems, but I didn't realize how severe they were. It took a long time for me to trust my psychiatrist enough to admit the symptoms I'd been hiding. He ultimately diagnosed me with schitzoaffective disorder.

I resisted believing I was as sick as I am, but when I finally accepted that I am really very sick, I felt relieved. It's okay to be extremely mentally ill. That is how God created me, and it it's good enough for Him, it's good enough for me.

Relax and put your illness in God's hands. :)
