Hinz Protocol - Pros & Cons

Hello to all of you! I’m a newbie on NeuroTalk. My interest in the Hinz protocol and related discussions on this forum are what brought me here and caused me to become a member. So a special thanks to those who have been debating the pros and cons of this protocol in various threads and sharing your personal experiences with it.

WHY HAVE I CREATED A NEW THREAD WITH THIS SPECIFIC TITLE?

I see various threads that discuss the Hinz protocol. Some of the titles of these threads become irrelevant because people start discussions that are off topic. For example, “Mucuna Solubility” has some of the best first-hand accounts of using this protocol, but you wouldn’t think so based on the title. Also, multiple threads on this protocol exist and these will become increasingly difficult to keep track of and update.

So I’m creating a new thread and hoping that you all will use it exclusively to discuss the pros and cons of the Hinz protocol. NOTE: Comments here should be confined to a discussion of the protocol itself and your opinions of its strengths and weaknesses, as opposed to actual experiences with it. Why? Because I also created another thread called “Hinz Protocol – Actual Experiences”

TWO NEW THREADS

“Hinz Protocol - Pros & Cons”
is a thread for everybody. I want the folks who have positive opinions of this protocol to contribute. I want folks who have not yet suspended disbelief to contribute. If you’ve studied this protocol and the research behind it the way I have, you know there is room for constructive criticism. Please let’s be respectful of all opinions.

“Hinz Protocol - Actual Experiences” is not a thread for everybody. It’s a place where those of us who have actual experience with the protocol or are considering trying it can talk among ourselves without having to defend it. We can talk about good experiences and bad, discuss symptoms, provide regular status updates, tips, lessons learned, build up an empirical database basically.

WHO AM I & WHAT AM I ABOUT?

• I am a caregiver for a family member with PD. They are early stage, diagnosed around 2011.

• I am practicing the Hinz protocol with the guidance of an authorized practitioner and believe in it for the most part, but at the same time still have some doubts and concerns about it.

• I have addressed specific questions about these concerns directly to Dr. Hinz and will share his responses on this thread. Hopefully Dr. Hinz and other doctors who practice this protocol will eventually participate in this forum.

Happy New Year!
Jon
