Low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy?
 

Has anyone heard of the below treatment or tried it? I could not find it here in a search

experimental intervention.

Low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy (Li-ESWT) utilises specialised soundwaves to trigger neuronal regeneration and stimulus. New Zealand researchers in a world first original clinical case-study lead by Kenneth Craig in collaboration with the research department of the Auckland University of Technology, have recently conducted several clinical case studies that have shown promise. Li-ESWT was utilised to re-establish peripheral insensitivity in diabetic patients (pending publication). Similarly Li-ESWT have been used on the opposite spectrum of neuropathic pain syndromes with good results. ESWT offers a non-invasive, drug free treament option. After over 30 years of its use in various medical disciplines such as Urology, Cardiology, and Sports medicine, ESWT is now being investigated for use in complex pain syndromes, and diabetes induced peripheral polyneuropathy.
