Slightly off-topic: Sinusitis/sinus headache and your symptoms
Does anyone experience sinusitis or sinus headache? I do and I think it contributes to other issues.
Last night I went to bed with sinus trouble. I had issues breathing through both noses. This morning I woke up feeling terrible and dizzy. I've been diagnosed with non-allergic rhinitis. Which apparently is something I'll have to live with for the rest of my life. I probably had it before my brain issue developed. However, before my brain issues developed, it wasn't really causing any adverse issues. I take mometasone (nasal steriod) and use a saline rinse. However, it isn't 100% effective, especially because I often miss a dose. For me, this is probably my number one or number two issue. After I develop it, my dizziness gets much worse, I am more sensitive to bright light, etc. Often I am ok to start the day, but I develop sinus issues as the day progresses if I push myself too much. I've heard of one other person who developed it after their brain injury. |
Have you had your nasal area and sinuses examined by an ENT ?
I had nasal septum and turbinate surgery 3 months ago and the results are amazing. Prior ENT's who I had seen for other issues (allergies and Eustachian tube inflammation) had not recommended any surgery but when I complained to a family doctor, I was told this what a possibility. The ENT I saw was quick at identifying my obstruction. The surgery was quick. Recovery was uncomfortable for a week (day 3 is the worst) but by 2 weeks I was doing great. I had been told I may need turbinate surgery when I was 5 then my head injury at 10 years old likely shattered my septum. Only took 50 years to get the surgery. |
This is a very interesting thread. I have had CONSTANT dizzy issues since my severe TBI many years ago? I also have bad allergies. Never put 2 and 2 together. I sustained closed fracture. Today, in 2016, I am having mAjor sinus issurs. Major sleep problems, dizzy issues, the migraines just never have gone away. They are now sending me in for sleep study. I think thats bs. I should go to ENT!! ThNks!! Just thought I'd chie in and add my own similar things [emoji40]
