shakes and body tremours???

Hello first post on the forum.

In the last week i have been suffering from body tremours and shakes. My doctor is sending me to a neurologist for further evaluation... I have a history of ulcerative colitis and on medication prednisone tabs & (enemas) and methotexate, and coversyl for slight cholesterol in arteries. I have never felt like this before my blood workup shows slightly evelevated white blood cells and liver enzymes due to prednisone but nuthing major.. Im starting to get anxious when i shake its slightly noticeable to other people.
Any help and input would be helpful.
Thank you.

Hi stimpy

Welcome to NeuroTalk :).

A few thoughts:

Prednisone and, to lesser extent, methotrexate are often used in management of ulcerative colitis. If they stop working there is another class of medications which you could discuss with your doctor - they block the action of a protein called TNF which is important in the inflammatory response - infliximab (trade name Remicade) and adalimumab (trade name Humira) are examples - there are others.

I think that getting checked out by a neurologist is a good plan - I hope that you get some helpful answers.

All the best.

Good choice stimpy - Dr Borody has an excellent international reputation in the field of inflammatory bowel disease.

I hope that a faecal transplant helps you.
