Ah, Sal, thanks; it is a day steeped in grand history which will be ignored by the masses as they pound down nasty hot dogs and cheap beer. We do live in a magnificent country.

I've been pondering the irony in the whole name, "independence day" has such a double meaning to me anymore!

I've been going to the same "thing" every year for more than 20 and this year, I might just skip it. Looks like more rain on the way in these parts. Besides, most of the fun was watching the kids and they all have cars and spouses now, they just don't get excited by the sparklers and cherry bombs I bring them.

EM is setting out in style I see!

Happy 4th Sal and everyone!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO ALL OF MY YANKEE FRIENDS!!!

I had to laugh yesterday. I went to one of the neighbourhood fruit and vegetable stands, and the owners asked me if they had a "July 4th" in England. I said, "sure, tomorrow is July 4th all over the world I believe".:D

We had fun this morning. They have something here called the Peachtree Road Race. It was a 5K race early in the morning and it ended up in one of the larger parks in midtown Atlanta. Michael ran with a co-worker of his, and I went down with his wife. There were tons of folks, and it took us almost an hour to meet up after they were finished with the run. Great people watching! We're off to a block party(in the neighbourhood where we are leasing) this evening. There are going to be fireworks down the street from the new home we're building, so I think we'll drive over there with some of our neighbours here and their children to watch after dinner.

Enjoy the holiday everyone. Be safe, and have fun.:)

Now that's my idea of a great Holiday, April. glad you enjoyed it.:D

The Ribs from Schwans were delicious..yummmmmm.
I ate those and then I did nothing. So, it was a good day for me, too. ....and....I have leftovers for today!!

It used to take a lot more to thrill me, in the old days.

Hugs For All
