Disappearance of small fiber Neuropathic pain in exchange for numbness

Hello - it's me again with another question. Has anyone ever found that a painful small fibre neuropathy seems to vanish - leaving only a feeling of icy cold chill, tingle and slight numbness in its wake? If so does it usually come back? I am really confused because it's dominated my life for the past few years. The only time it's ever vanished before in this way is when I was very ill on IV antibiotics.

However I do seem to have this disequilibrium retuning a little. I panic about changes in floor surfaces and changes in lighting or turning my head while walking can faze me and mean I lose my balance. Wondering whether this is my small fibre neuropathy affecting my nerves in my feet and legs a little now and throwing me or whether I'm just overtired?

My extremities get icy cold now as does the rest of me and I can't sweat and am very constipated for no reason. All a bit strange. Is this a recognisable pattern to anyone here? I'm so enjoying the lack of burning needle pain in all my limbs and face - I want to think it's gone for good but daren't.

I've been referred to a new neurologist today about the dizziness/ lack of equilibrium/ balance. I'm all at sea with this shift in symptoms?
