Heart involvement

Anyone here have non-ischemic cardiomyopathy from CRPS?

My recent EKG shows that I have this, but not the one I had three years ago.

No doctor has told me, I just read the report. Eek.

Hi Bio,

Sorry you have one more thing to be concerned about. Was it a cardiologist who did your testing? What the EKG machine prints out and how it gets interpreted by a physician are sometimes different things and sometimes require collabortive tests.

Cardiomyopathy has several causes, just one of them being hypertension. I'd be sure it isn't caused by something else (hopefully reversible) before consigning it to the CRPS file. Though CRPS can have cardiac effects it's always good to rule-out other reasons.

Be safe and take care of you, okay?

I know how scary it can be to find out there may be something wrong with your heart. My father had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and had his first heat attack at 21 and his fatal one at 44. They determined it was genetic so guess who gets to get regular heat tests?

I agree with Littlepaw what the machine says and what is read by the physician are sometimes 2 different things. I have had the machine say many different things, however if you look at a longer strip and rule-out artifact it turns out to be nothing. Do you know if they did a 6-lead or 12-lead ECG?

I would suggest talking to your doctor about your concerns. They may suggest an echo if they feel it's warranted. I really hope it's just a case of machine error because I know this is the last thing you need!

I just got through a cerebral angiogram. The headache afterward was so violent I had to spend the night at the hospital. Based on the result I will probably have endovascular coiling to obliterate the aneurysm. In the mean time I will have another EKG and a consult. Thank you for all your support-I doubt I could get through this without my cyper teammates.

Poor Bio!

You have so much on your plate right now and having to stay overnight at the hospital too. You must be wiped out. I am glad your nursing care was good. That makes such a difference.

Please do let us know what happens with you and if/when you have your procedure so we can be with you in spirit and send good vibes.

Maybe you should stay in your jammies today and watch a movie. I am making you a cup of tea right now....

Just out of curiosity when you spent the night did they do anything different because of the CRPS? For example did you have a private room or access to warm blankets? Sorry to get off target but I am trying to get a list together in case I need to stay overnight.

I admire how life keeps knocking you down but get right back up. It shows how strong you really are. I hope that things start looking up for you!

Hang in there Bio we're all pulling for you.

The nurses were A+++. They brewed me fresh coffee to see if it would help my headache. They changed my chilled blankets out for warmed ones multiple times. Propped me up up with pillows, etc. I was miserable, but it was a good experience, because they were so kind and attentive.

My echocardiogram was perfectly fine. My heart works great-no sign of any problems. No explanation for that EKG report. Whew.

Now that this heart thing has been favorably resolved I scheduled my brain surgery for later this month. LOL What a ride!
