Technical Question re: receptor levels
Hi everyone,
I recently has my Myasthenia blood panel drawn again (its been two years?) and my results came back positive, which I expected. I've not been doing well with walking and I'm concerned my MG is progressively getting worse. My question is this: My doctor told me my levels are "elevated" but I'm not sure -how- elevated? I cannot find a ref. range anywhere except for what constitutes as a "Positive" result. I know everyone is different but I am really curious where I stand (or, more realistically, where I fall. Hah! Get it?! A bad MG joke! ) Results are: Binding Receptor Ab: 253.45 h nmol/L Blocking Receptor Ab: 52 H % of inhibition Modulating Receptor Ab: 92% striated muscle always comes back negative Does anyone else with generalized MG have similar results? Thank you in advance to all who respond! -Lin |
Lin, Haha! Funny, yet not.
What lab did they send your tests to? Do you have a copy of them? Every lab has a slightly different test range. http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1171206-workup Your numbers are really high. And with a modulating that high, I'm surprised they are talking about your thymus. Have you had a thymectomy? Or a CT of the thymus? What drugs are you on right now? I'm sorry you're doing worse. The numbers don't necessarily reflect that, however, the appear to in your case! Annie |
