hi, I'm a new member here..I have been on citalapram since coming off prozac which didn't suit me at all...I honestly cant say whether it is good or not, I am going through pretty tough therapy at the moment which may be making me up and down mood wise....my t thinks it maybe stabilizing my mood to some extent...

:)Hi there!
Bearing in mind everyone's different and most importantly I am VERY SENSITIVE to meds and other things e.g. caffeine, I was put on Citalopram a few years ago. I only took the first dose and I was awake all night with a heart rate of 150bpm and sweating buckets, even my feet were sweating!
Anyway please remember it most probably would be okay for you if you're doctor suggested it.
Good Luck

Hi,

I've just joined. I've been on Citalopram for just over three years. Tried various doses and the only one which seemed OK was 20mg per day. Trouble is doc wants me to try coming off it now, but having real trouble. Saying that I did find that it helped me a lot when I was really down. I was able to cope better, but coming off not easy. Everyone is different, I have friend who got terrible side effects with it and another friend who took it for 18 months came off with no problems and has been fine ever since. Hope this helps. Love earlymorning
