Newbie Intro
I've been on NT before, addressing another neuro problem than the one I'm dealing with now. The issue I'm trying to learn about is a neurological learning disorder, nonverbal learning disorder (or disability), NVLD. I was dx'd in 1995, which didn't help much since it's normally found when children are still in school - and I wasn't. This disorder/disability is still not classified in the DSM-V or in the medical classification system.
I didn't see this disorder listed here on NT, but I'm hoping someone will know something to help me. It became a serious issue for me when I became suicidal as a result of anxiety and depression. I'm also on PsychCentral, but hesitate to post this info there because no one seems to know the problems NVLD adults face. Cheers~~Ducky |
Hi UglyDucky
I talked to my partner about this. She is a psychologist who has worked with children and adults with a range of developmental delays. She recommended these two sites for adults with NLD; http://www.nlda.org/ http://www.nldline.com/adults.htm |
