Resveratrol to treat PN
In Dr. Kruse's article one of the main supplements he recommends is Resveratrol but I have not seen anyone here list it as one they take. I'm curious to know if anyone has been helped by it. https://www.jackkruse.com/what-is-pe...al-neuropathy/

Hi Cliffman,
I haven't tried yet myself or grape seed extract, but I have this waiting for me to try: http://www.amazon.com/Pure-Encapsula...XTHBTY582GQEQY I'll let you know when I do introduce it. If it works well, I may graduate to this one: http://www.amazon.com/Pure-Encapsula.../dp/B0078VYLCM. Quote:

grape seed extract

I haven't tried yet myself or grape seed extract, but I have this waiting for me to try. Hi Dave I was thinking about trying grape seed extract also for burning from sfn. Do you know what brand and how many Mgs your going to buy yet? I did some searching and there are so many brands. I'm at a loss, can't decide which one is "better". Who knows if it will help but I can not give up and will try almost anything that comes recommended from members on here ..Thanks. |
Hi Marie,
If you look at my post in this thread, just above, you'll see two links. As I say, I have the first and will soon try it, and will try the second at some point, I guess. I like the Pure Encapsulations brand, despite the higher price, because they don't add any fillers to the extent that it's possible. Good luck! I'm not sure why Dr. Kruse recommends Resveratrol for neuropathy because it seems like it's really to keep the heart healthy. I'm confused. I take an RX blood thinner now due to my recent heart attack so I don't know if I can add this into the mix if it thins the blood further. Cliffman:) |
I'd have to read the article again. I think it was for general health, etc., but I can't remember exactly. Perhaps it was more and more directly connected to PN, which is why I ordered it. If there is potential issues, I'd be careful and check with your doctor and/or others on here. I'll see about looking at the article again...
Okay, decided to give it a quick look. This is what he says regarding nerve issues per se: "I also use high dose resveratrol because it blocks the production of nitric oxide in nerves and increases mitochondrial efficiency, even in the face of an unregulated polyol pathway." I didn't check for his reference/evidence, but perhaps you can look into that. I'm guessing that's why I ordered it, primarily if not entirely at any rate. Quote:

Resveratrol is the most recent of the OPC class of Grape Supplements. Pycnogneol was first, Grape Seed Extract 2nd, Resveratrol in the last 10 yrs or so. I don't know why Dr. Kruse suggests Resveratrol. Personally, I don't use Resveratrol, but a Costco grape seed ex I've used and still has some, contains 15mg of Resveratrol in the mix. I don't know much about Resveratrol as I've been hooked on Pycnogenol and Grape Seed Ex for so long with positive benefits.
If we re-read Dr. Kruse supplements for Nerve issues, it's not just Resveratrol. Maybe one can try to contact him to ask why Resveratrol and not grape seed ex or Pycnogenol. My thinking. Perhaps he knows that Resveratrol is best for nerve issues. |

You're welcome. I hope it helps, if you end up taking it. :)
