Doc Ordered C-spine and Lumbar MRI??
I am still in Limboland and I have had a clear brain MRI. My symptoms are mostly in my arms and legs and come and go. Doc has now ordered a c-spine MRI and after asking him if that would explain my weird dead leg he has added a lumbar mri. I guess I'm wondering if any of the t-spine will be picked up if they're looking at both ends since he didn't order it? I don't want to have a 3rd mri and contrast exposure if these are both negative so I guess I'm hoping these were the right ones to order. Thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

Hello Pharmgirlkelly,
Quote:
With MS the most common spine MRI is the cervical (neck) spine. The Lumbar MRI is not for MS but usually done to check if there is a spine problem such as; herniated/bulging disc, stenosis, degenerative disc disease(DDD) as well as others. The c-spine MRI can also detect spine problems. Spine problems mentioned above are not related to Multiple Sclerosis but they can cause Neurological symptoms. MS lesions found in the c-spine can cause symptoms from that point down |
