Flying First Time, 3 Years After My Head Injury

Hi everyone, its been a while since my last post. I have been feeling better, currently left with cervicogenic headaches, some tinnitus and eye straining when under stress. Has anyone flown after their head injury? If so, did symptoms return or intensify? I guess what I am trying to ask is; if it is safe to fly?, and are there any nasty symptoms that come with flying for people in our condition? My injury was March 10, 2013.

Wishing you well..

The airports are loud and busy so wear earplugs. The flight itself doesn't affect me. I get extra sleep to handle the extra stimulus of traveling.

Each person is different so you never know but can't live in cave.

Hi,
I have flown just a month ago, two years post injury. Had few difficulties. It took a while to get my feet under me but other than that was a good flight! Enjoy your trip!

Plan on a low stress day the day after your flight. If it is a short hop, you will not likely even notice anything except the noise over-stimulation. Ear plugs are a must.

I haven't flown since injury but I have been skiing a few times this winter at 7,700' alt.
With now ill effects.

Cabin pressures in commercial flights are typically equivalent to 8,000' alt.

Another thing to be aware of is that aircraft recirculate cabin air and oxygen levels may be lower than normal, shouldn't be a problem when all you're doing is sitting down.
