Hi nathy,

Welcome to the forum! Medical marijuana won't hurt you as long as your Dr. is sure of the amount you take in each day. I've had epilepsy for 44 yrs. and had surgery to reduce my sz. and I've been on over 10 different sz. meds but I later found out I was drug resistant, so my neuro wants to put me on the medical marijuana this summer.
To get more info. regarding the medical marijuana you may want to check out healthy hemp oil and Charlottes web.
I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!

Hey

I just finished watching a documentary about epilepsy on PBS. It presented novel treatments.......including a derivative of cannibis that so effective, it was causing parents of epileptic children to move to Colorado!

They ran a trial in NYC.... They profiled one young woman (who had been housebound her whole life)...who was very much improved. A child who had seizures every 4 seconds, was moderately improved.

These were very severe cases..... But it's pretty clear cannabis might be the best treatment, with the fewest side effects, out there.

Try and catch the show!

Hi SylvieM,

I saw the entire 3-4 part series with Dr. SanGupta speaking about medical marijuana and how it can help some people who have epilepsy not to mention reduce cancer, and help people with other medical problems. The one thing a person has to watch is their blood platlet level I just recently found out that it can lower the blood platelet level so it will be harder for blood to clot and this happened to me yrs. ago with the drug Depakene (valproic acid) and I had to be put in the hospital and taken off the drug slowly then I was fine.
Wishing you well and May God Bless You,

Sue

Isn't it wonderful thing
For the babies who cannot speak for themselves and let anybody know they are about to experience a seizure
And for someone like myself helps with nausea
A constant in my life
And rather then stay at a healthy weight that made me look healthier
Now have a way to help in two areas in the medical world it helps me and gives me an reason to eat

I having a epileptic child my Saraeve thirty five
And in the beginning no room on the adult floor
We were then on the children's floor for epileptic monitoring
And what I seem made me constantly cry
Cry for the babies who's parents both had to work
Left alone not able to talk
JUST TORE ME APART
I AM TIRED OF THE WAIT
EVERYONE TORE THIS CANNABIS plant apart
I do agree it "COULD" be a gateway
But then again
What about
Drugs, sex, gambling, stealing, over eating and the list goes on until you have someone like myself who is riddled with OCD erring to the side of order and cleanliness
Not a terrible thing for where I am now
It should have been addressed when having surgery
And not doing much but work on healing
Cannabis turned out to be a great thing for may sick people
For so many DIFFERENT REASONS
And it doesn't kill ANYBODY
IS THIS COUNTRY nuts
Why not just make the medicine for the patient
And not throw into the equation they will become hooked
And cannot be put in the SAME CLASS AS OPIOIDS
JUST MU TWO CENTS
Me
