Visit at Urgent Care

...went smooth. (Except for excruciating pain of course). I said CRPS (Kaiser recognizes this terminology), she nodded her head and said "I have seen many patients with this."

I informed her that started in my right knee and have had some issues with my hip, but nothing like this. She stated that it is not too uncommon in a limb to have the whole limb affected.

We both agreed that this flare up was from walking on July 3, after riding the trolley (to save myself from driving), to go to a friends house for a swim day (I stayed in the jacuzzi).

I am giving it some time. The doc prescribed oxycodone. Eh, it helps a little - definitely better than where I have been the last three days. She stated (posting because only this condition can cause a doc to say this) "I am prescribing something a little stronger, but not kick you in the butt strong, so that you can get through the flare up and back down to a vicodin level again." I have never heard a doc say that.

The saying I find most compassionate is, "I won't touch you because I don't want to make you worse than you are right now."

Junk, I'm glad to hear the appt went so smoothly. And YEAH for a kind compassionate dr. who understood about rsd! You don't find those every day, especially not in an urgent care/ emergency room setting.

I hope you get to feeling better real soon. Gentle  to you.

Hi,

She is right too. I have noticed when I have a flare up I have to go up on my Methadone until it calms back down.

It is from a little bit of overdoing it as I had said before. We do one fun thing and we are down for days.

I'm glad that she was able and willing to help you.

Ada
