Facial sensitivity that won't go away!
 

Hello everyone. I am joining this community in hopes you can help me give a name and direction with my symptoms. I have been having facial sensitivity to my upper left cheek, eyebrow/forehead and temple region extending into my hairline for a few years now. It used to come and go when I was tired or stressed but now it's there all the time. It doesn't hurt. It's just like something is always on my face. Touching it and pressing or rubbing it makes it go away until I stop. I have rubbed it so much that I am losing hair in that region and my hairline is receding. It is so annoying and bothersome and severely at times. I don't even know what it's called so I can't research it. Does anyone else have experience and or advise with these symptoms. My doctor said it was not the Trigeminal nerve or Herpes but had no idea what it is. Thank you.

I was wondering if this sensation you're feeling is pain or is it more a tingling? If it isn't a painful sensation then that may help you narrow down the cause (or the name). The key may be that when you press on a certain area the sensation subsides... just a thought.

Look up the definition of "parathesia" in the dictionary and see if that sounds like the sensations you're having.

Do you get migraines at all or have you had a recent head injury or any recent dental work?

Hi,

The only facial sensitivity I experience is a side affect from having dental work done. Although after any type of clonic/tonic seizures I have, I do get minor sensitivity in my legs and neck muscles. This sensitivity does subside but if you are constantly experiencing this, I'd seek a second opinion with a specialist. Hope all goes well xx
