Bryanna......pain in socket when it rains
Bryanna, almost 4 weeks ago I had two upper molars extracted, one was a 5 year old root canal. It caused a sinus hole which my oral surgeon is still watching to see if it closes on its own.
Two questions, the extraction hole is not healing as fast as my previous extractions. It is still quite tender. My OS said it is healing. When it rains, I notice I get an ache in the extraction site itself that lasts until the weather returns to normal. Have you ever seen this? |
Prayerworks,
Did the OS take an xray to evaluate the sinus opening and rule out retained tooth remnants? It is not unusual to have discomfort or achiness in the area of the extraction and/or the correlating sinus area with a change in weather or barometric pressure. This usually indicates that there is inflammation and/or something unsettled in that area. Could be nothing significant and disappear as the area heals. Or it could be a sign of infection or something irritating like a polyp or a root tip. An xray would be helpful. |
No when I saw him last week he did not. I am scheduled to see him again next week. This is really taking a toll on me. Thanks Bryanna.
