Dr. Weil on Cranial Osteopathy
Dr. Weil has been out there in the alternative healing world for many years. I agree with much of what he believes.
My daughter is seeing a D.O. now and the work includes Cranial work. A friend is seeing the same D.O. next week for pelvic issues and her neck which she cannot move in either direction for going on 6 yrs since her rehab after hip replacement. My daughter reports a lighter overall feeling to her body and more ease with walking. She deals with many issues in her young life and one is a collapsed foot tendon. I'm thinking more about seeing the D.O. to see what she can relieve for my aging achy stiff body. This would include for me neck and spine work. This work as I understand it can be an adjunct to what other work people are doing. Personally I prefer no surgery as I deal with enough complications from the hip replacement. I have a thread in Medications/Treatments here but thought I'd add it here to the spine area. http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/ART03223...l-Therapy.html There are so many ways to help with healing and this is just another one. |
A little update: Had dinner with 2 friends last evening. I had forgotten this I think but one friend knows cranio work, she learned it years ago but doesn't work at it. But knows how effective it can be. Her mother who is 92 and lives in FL and overall does good for her years, has crano work every week as she has a therapist come to her house to treat her.
This info pushed me to make an appt for next Tuesday to see how the D.O. can help my body. Talking to my daughter today, she's looking so forward to her session tomorrow. So...good work. |
New report from my friend who has not been able to move her neck in almost 6 yrs all from rehab for hip replacement and sleeping on bad pillow those weeks. She also deals with OA even before hip surgery but could turn her neck.
She's had 2 D.O. sessions so far and reports she felt a "shift/movement" in her neck from Tuesday's session. She's optimistic that this work with help her thru the rest of her life. Her heart is good, it's her joints. I'm more optimistic too from my 1st session. |
