root in sinus cavity
Hi,
I really have a question that I need to have answered. I went to my dentist today for what I thought was going to be a simple extraction of my #2 upper right. The extraction went quick until it broke at the root. Then my dentist attempted to remove the root without success. Then I was sent to a Oral Surgeon who said it had moved and he could possibly remove it, however, because of it's location it might not be able to get it removed and may have to go to the hospital. Is this common? I still have to have it removed because they didn't accept my insurance. What is involved in having this removed? Thanks. |
Hi peggyb,
Good to meet you. I just wanted to let you know there is a forum here pertaining to Dental issues. Dentistry & Dental Issues Forum There has been a conversation on one of the threads about a similar problem that you're having. Just click on the link and it'll take you to the Dentistry forum |
That don't sound like no fun.
I've never heard of it. :Dunno: |
Hi Peggy and welcome.
Oi Vey!!!! I've had similar issues with a dentist I thought was going to torture me to death. I don't know about your particular problem but I imagine they would have to do it in outpatient surgery because they'll have to open up the area to remove the tooth. I'm not sure. But do check out the link that Lara gave you. Best wishes! I hope you're not in horrible pain. |
Hi, Peggy, welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm literally cringing at the thought. I'm sorry you have to deal with this, yuck.
I hope you'll find everything you need here and if you need any help, just let us know.:) |
YIKES Peggy! Some dentists are just not equipped to extract those size of teeth.... I worked for a dentist yrs ago, and he did the same thing a couple of times....
Yes, an oral surgeon will have to remove the root... He's probably sending you to the hosp, so it will be covered better financially there... When there is inflammation around the area, it is very hard to deaden the tissue, so they will probably sedate you so you don't feel anything. In the meantime, I hope you have some pain meds on hand, as you may very sore tomorrow after all the excavating they did in your poor mouth.... Geesh... I feel for ya.... take care and let us know how you make out!! |
