everything caught up with me. I have been doing a balancing act. there are so many what ifs in my life. I am afraid i can fall down the shut. so much has to do with money. the jury duty is another thing. I intellectually know i should be able to get off jury duty but it has always been such a worry. when i was just told i was off it permanently was a big relief. Now i have to look for their mercy to be excused again. I can't judge another..it is so stressful. It also brings back my whole trial and my burns and the hospital experience. I also can't walk far and that will be an ordeal. Also I can't lose Maria who comes twice a week. I can't clean up my apartment. brings up my total helplessness.
oh rats.

Have you made an appointment with your pdoc yet? I think I remember he offered to write a letter for you regarding the jury duty…

When you see him, ask him to write it explaining the meds you are taking and say you suffer from BP and a serious anxiety disorder and those things prevent you from participating in jury duty in a meaningful way. It wouldn't hurt for him to remind them of your age. My PCP sent them a letter and they excused me permanently based on the meds I take alone (I live in MA). The justice system would be overburdened with appeals if they could stipulate jurors were overmedicated at the time of trial.

It's good that you want to ask to raise the topamax, but it's a better idea to tell your pdoc everything that's been going on. You're going to get the best results if he can see the whole picture and use his education and experience to come up with the right med plan for you.

If the lunch with your nephew is going to be too much for you, you can always cancel with a polite excuse (i.e./ you're not feeling well without being specific) and tell him you hope you can see him at some point in the near future. The lunch is supposed to be a pleasant thing, not a burden.

I hope you feel better today :hug::hug::hug:

I am sorry that you are feeling overwhelmed.
I don't understand why you got another jury notice when you were already excused before.

Jury duty excuse. my experience.

I was able to email the court jury duty persons, state & county both, and just told them of my health issues that would not fit with sitting quietly for long time frames.

Both county & state replied that I was excused..
I didn't even have to provide a Drs letter.
Which surprised me..
but it is worth a try..

Some state/county courts might be more strict in the requirement of a letter.

You may have to contact both your state court & county court, as they are separate systems.. Or save the letter until or if the other court contacts you for jury duty, then send it.

My old pdoc handed me a letter he typed during our session.

====
I cannot remember what I did next. I think I faxed that letter to the court.

Then the court sent me a letter back saying I was "excused from jury duty."

====

But the letter does not say whether or not I am excused forever or not.
