Is this TN? Please help!
About five days ago I started experiencing nerve-like pain around a tooth. I initially thought exposed nerve. It progressively got worse and branched out more into the lower gum area. The pain, which is a tearing/burning pain, normally remains in the same general area--on the inside of my mouth in the gum area. I'm fine if I don't eat/drink or talk. However, once I start moving my mouth the pain is excruciating. It seems like it's triggered by my tongue moving against it.
I was referred to the endodontist and ended up having a root canal two days ago. Inflammation and procedural pain is well taken care of-no problem with that. I do still get the burning/tearing feeling though. And now it seems to happen on the other side of my gum in an area where he put a dose of anesthesia meds in. I wanted to get your opinion about where this sounds r/t TN. I wasn't sure if TN can be triggered only pain (i.e. Moving tongue ) or if it's pain that is felt differently. |
