alone

Yes I am new here.I am alone.I have a son 17yrs old autistic and a daughter 4yrs old... full of life.I have a husband 18 yrs now.
I love them and they love me.Yet I am alone. My thoughts, pain and frustration
of Fibromyalgia is taking its toll on me!
Spinal arthritis also pains me,herniated disks...nerve compression etc....
I could go on.Yet it would not prove a point.Except to convey my misery.

Yrs of frustration and knowing "something" was not right .I plugged along pushing myself.I had to be responsible.High Expectations were expected.
I played the part as long as I could. Then I just gave into "me"!
"ME" the real ME..who I am...how I feel. Accepting my situation,my limitations without guilt.
After almost 4yrs of neuros, neurosurgeons orthopedic drs....
2 yrs evaluated at a M.S clinic...
More back drs....
Finally a Rheumy...intelligent to see the obivious.Fibro and arthritis of the spine..knees etc...

I am not alone...at least I hope. Izzy

((Izzy)) you are not alone!!! It's a frustraing problem. I too have the same problems as you with the spine.

There is lots of good information in this forum for your fibro so please don't feel alone, and jump in any time. My family accepted my fibro right away and is very compassionate about it, so I am lucky that way. I hope you are too.

Read up on some of the posts in here. Lots of good info. :)

Hi Izzy!

No, you're definitely not alone. Welcome to the fibromyalgia board -- nice meeting you and hope to get to know you better.

I've had fibro for 10 years and MS for 16. Too much pain!!!!

Take care.

Welcome izzy, you're not alone anymore :)

Welcome to the forum Izzy.

Having this forum is what helped me to stop feeling like I was so alone. Before I started posting on forums I used to get quite depressed from feeling so lonely, feeling so alone, being in pain so much, and feeling like I was the only person in the world who felt that way.

Then several years ago I joined an online forum, and I stopped feeling so alone. Just knowing that there are other people that I can reach out to is so helpful for me.

I'm glad you found the forums :)

Take care,
Liz

PS - just so you know, there are forums here for Autism and Spinal Disorders if you wanted/needed support for those areas in addition to support for your fibromyalgia.

Hello Izzy...and a very sincere welcome to you! :)

I think you can see already that you are not alone here. All those things you've found so impossible to describe to your family and friends will be readily understood here on this forum. That alone can be such a wonderful feeling.

We know how strange and confusing fibromyalgia can be, even after living with it for years and years. There is always something new about it to contend with every few weeks.

Here's hoping that you become a regular member of the crowd, as I hope to hear from you regularly in the future...:) :) :)

not alone...

You are definately not alone! I have the exact same things that you do...fibro, several herniated disks (one with spinal cord compression), and polyneuropathy. I have been in pain since 1983, although back then, amitryptelene (Elavil) helped a lot. Now...nothing seems to help. My doc just doubled my dose on Ultram, and it makes me feel ill...no energy to even think much. Is it helping with my pain? Do I have to think to answer that? Sorry to hear that there is another like us...but, glad to have a friend.

As you can tell, you will never be alone here. It's a community of people with similar problems, and there is always someone who will respond.
I have noticed how chronic pain tends to isolate people. I also feel very alone with it at times, and frustrated that other people just can't understand what our lives are like.
Hang in there, and please visit often.

Oh Izzy....you here and abouts? Hope you are doing okay.
