After TOS surgery pain

I had surgery for neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome on 6/16/16 and I am still in so much pain I'm taking meds like crazy. The original pain is gone but the post op pain is reticulous. Is this normal? I had a three level lumbar fusion with two rods , five screws and two disc replacements and an SI joint cage and bounced back with less pain. I never expected to hurt so bad. I'm not able to take NSAIDs due to being a kidney donar but I can't believe that would make that big of a difference. Any advice would be great. I'm feeling like a big *** baby right now. If this is normal that's fine. I just didn't know

I think many in the past have mentioned feeling pretty bad for a month after TOS surgery...some more some less...
