Ears echoing
It is that time again when my ears 'echo' and feel 'full'. Have never been given an answer as to why this it but over time felt it was something to do with weather patterns.
My new Physio who has answers and suggestions for most things asked a few relevant questions then said although the there is very little study around it, it is due to atmospheric pressure. "If you had a barometer and tracked it with the echo your ears you would see the pattern". While nothing can be done about it bar being more vigilant at these times (balance and cognition takes more effort) it goes a long way to understanding. Sort of like my right side impairment, now that it has been acknowledged, I've been listened to, and someone who knows what they are talking about is addressing it, the area which has been numb, unresponsive, and causes me to drop things is starting to 'zing' or send a few shock waves. Exercises given are long, slow, and demanding of the area concerned but of limited repetition, they are hitting the mark. Almost the total opposite of anything given before. Where would we all be with proper, timely intervention? A world wide phenomena - no doubt - when it comes to the brain. |
You are very fortunate to have found help and understanding. Your two symptoms are uncommon to concussion and mTBI.
Has anybody considered whether you have some barometric pressure caused inflammation ? Maybe a try of a corticosteroid to see if it makes a difference would be worthwhile.. |
