It is July 1st 2016 already!

It is July first already!
Time for a new thread.
Got up a little early to take a shower and just have been on the computer instead of the shower.
sigh
my hair looks a fright!

I did 3 loads of laundry, 2 loads were my uniforms, working over the weekends now I go thru them quicker, I only have 10 pairs.
We are going to whole foods tonight to play trivia. A colleague of jeffs is coming and he is very smart! He reads/ does the new york times crossword puzzle everyday! We will have a chance at doing well! They actually give gift cards for winners! Helps with the bar bill. We have won once before...$20!

I hate to say this but I caused a big problem for our lunch bunch.
Lost a friend over it and now it has effected another friend too.
sigh
I had lunch with these people for 3 years almost every day.
It saddens me.
I have apologized but you can't take back words and she would not forgive me. One of the members told the rest of the group private information about another member, and later I told her about that(she is such a private person I believed she needed to know that the rest of the group knew that she was filing for divorce)...she feels we were gossiping about her.
I should have never told her.

What are your 4th plans?
I see a client this morning then lunch with Jeff at chris's po boys for some chicken and sausage gumbo( not gumbo weather but it is cool in there and it is so good we eat it all year round here!)
then hair appointment at 1pm then another client at 4 or so.

Tomorrow have 2 clients at 1;30 so we will still get to eat brunch at the hub city diner before hand.

Off monday and will travel to a little town about 40 minutes from our house called Erath. They have a nice fireworks display and few rides for the kids. There will be music, this will be the 3rd year in a row to go there.
Last year jeff was able to find some beer there that he liked at a bar. The owner had some IPA beer that she had bought for her son but was willing to sell it to jeff. Her poor son!

We did terrible at trivia last night! But still had fun.
Split a pizza which is always yummy... and also shared some sushi that I just had a hankering for.

Happy weekend all!

I'm sorry about what happened with your lunch friends. Honestly, it sounds like the the type of mistake I would make. You meant well, and I hope that your friends will realize that in time.

I'm glad you got your shower and laundry out of the way. It sounds like you will be busy today. I hope you like how your hair turns out :)

I'm sorry you didn't do well at trivia, but having fun is the important part :)

Your plans for the 4th sound great! Right now we have nothing planned and I'm kinda happy about that.

Thanks kay.
the shower never happened....:o
my 4 oclock canceled on me which is fine...I can get a hair cut too now.
getting ready to head out of the door.
I have regular clothes on, somewhat thrown together for seeing my client. Hope they don't mind.
It is always hard to dress for me....as I wear scrubs 5 days a week so the weekends throw me off. I also had to consider that they may get water/ chemicals on my clothes so I never wear nice clothes to the beauty school to get my hair done. Olive green jean capris, Dark purple cheap tee shirt tucked in, boat shoes and a simple necklace and frilly scarf instead of a belt...oh and I need to put on some ear rings.
I drank too much last night, 5 beers.
sigh Lots of calories!

WEll we did something different last night.
We went to a burlesque show.
It started at 10pm which is kind of late.
But it was something to do. We got there early thinking that we would have a hard time getting in and there was no one there so we walked down the street to a beer garden and I had a beer and took with me a cider for the show, the gelatto place was closed by then, rats.

I thought it was going to be some sort of musical or something.
I was so wrong!
They were strippers!
Off went their clothes down to pasties!!!
Jeff knew and assumed I knew....
oh well that was something different.
I have to say that there was a transgender he/she who was hilarious!

jeff just told me that in coney island they had a hot dog eating contest and this guy ate 65 hot dogs including buns in 10 minutes last year. (the record was 69 in 10 minutes in 2013)
Last night during intermission they had a hot dog competition and it took 5 guys at least 10 minutes to eat 6 hot dogs.
lol

jeff and I will go get brunch today then I have 2 clients to see this afternoon. Again, I will have to throw some outfit together. I refuse to wear scrubs on the weekends that I work except for when I go to new iberia for the assisted living care facility once a month on a saturday.

My hair is nice, new gal.... we really hit it off.
She liked to talk. And we shared drinking stories!
I will get to have her for 2 more sessions/months, yeah!
lol

It has been hot here...but places are air conditioned so I occasionally bring a sweater when I know that it will be cold in there.

Looked into the espresso makers, not bad for the appliance but the cups are $.50 a cup. That is expensive compared to the coffee beans that we buy whole then grind ourselves. (At $10 a pound for organic coffee you can make a whole lot of coffee with that!)
I have decided to abandon that idea.

Happy sunday yall!

lol. I'm surprised you didn't know what you were getting into with the burlesque show! It is something different… I'm glad you had fun! :)

Also glad you liked your hair, and the new gal who did it :)

There are stove top espresso pots (usually 4-cups), coffee presses, and other models out there where you can still use your own beans. I will find you some links when I get a chance.

Happy 4th!!!

OhKay 07-04-2016 09:34 AM

These are just two options I found…

Here is a very economical stove top espresso maker. You can use your own beans and it is available in many sizes:

Amazon.com: Bialetti 6-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker: Stovetop Espresso Pots: Kitchen & Dining

Here's a little machine that can brew ground beans or pods:

De'Longhi Retro BAR32 Espresso/Cappuccino Machine - BedBathandBeyond.com

hi kay.
HOpe you are doing ok today.
thank you for the link to the amazon coffee/espresso maker. I read the worst reviews...apparently there was a counterfeit one being issued...They said that you could buy the real ones for sure at target. Will have to go check it out.
bizi:)

Showering may happen after the day because if I shower and get all hot and sweaty then I would have to take another shower.
sigh

I hate the post-shower sweatiness! I usually crank up that new AC in the living room to 68 degrees before I get in there to prevent that. I have that luxury now. I have to get in the shower myself.

I hope that you do get an espresso machine since you and Jeff enjoyed it so much in Europe. Reading Amazon reviews gives you an excellent idea if something is counterfeit or not (among from other things). People come right out and say things are counterfeit if they are. I prefer Amazon because of the reviews… I like to know what I'm getting before I buy things.

You can check the Target website to see if it is available in your store. If it isn't, you can buy it online and have it shipped to your store and pick it up so you don't have to pay for delivery.

bizi 07-05-2016 09:08 AM

thanks kay!
Finally took a shower.
geesh!
The cat had come in so she opened the door so it was cold when I got out. Oh well at least the mirrors were not all fogged up like usual.
The little fair that we went to was fun. We rode a little farris wheel that was nice. ate fair food, chicken on a stick, BBQ ribs.
It was hot! and we decided to hang out in the bar/ air conditioning until it was close to time for the fire works to start.
The show lasted a full 30 minutes this year!
very nice, I am sure it costs that little city a fortune!
Hope you all had a nice day!
bizi who is getting ready to go to work.
