My storyboards

Hello group. I introduced myself yesterday, but that post has been lost in a forum quagmire. I'll try again to share my story. I have sustained six concussions, the last three being the worst. Number four resulted in short LOC and pretty bad whiplash. Five was a car accident. Rear-ended. Another concussion, more whiplash. That was it for me.

Received care from a top notch facility specializing in this kind of thing. Symptoms include chronic migraines, vision issues, dizziness/vertigo, problems walking especially downhill. Bothered by lights, sound, quick movements, bright colors. I can drive for very short distances, but get fatigued. I could go on.

I'm a 52 year old professional who lost his job a year ago, who is very dependent on spouse for many things. Am currently taking triptans, muscle relaxant, lamictal, two different antidepressants. My current condition makes it impossible to hold a job. I'm wading through the workers comp/disability swamp and hoping to retire a little early.

I've had some very dark days and admit that I have contemplated "it". I'm holding out hope that something is going to reduce these symptoms. For those who are counting, concussion six resulted from a fall while recovering from concussion five. My advice is to take care of your brain. It's the only one you have. Thanks for listening.

Buffalo Boy,

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

Your introduction was posted to new members. Few of us in the PCS forum ever read the New Members posts.

You don't ask a question so I'll just volunteer some ideas. I'd suggest you get a Social Security Disability application started. At one year post job, this is the right time to start.

You don't say what treatment you received ? Any neck therapies ? What kind ?

Vestibular therapy ?

Vision therapy ?

What other therapies or treatments ?

I suggest you read the Vitamins sticky at the top. The struggling brain needs extra nutrition.

Thanks for reply Mark from Idaho. I'm still trying to navigate this forum. May take a bit, turns out I have pcs.
Like many others, I've been CT, MRI and EEG'd until I'm blue. I've tried numerous drugs and combinations. PT on neck, vestibular therapy, cranio sacral, med massage, vision therapy and Irlen. Add to that we have nerve blocks, triggerpoints, botox plus that stick up my nose. My migraines come about 3 days a week. Given the phases of migraines, chances are I'm coming in, going out or active on any given day. I do take vitamins, but not sure what. I use to be a very active person. Now, I can't mow the lawn because the bouncing drives me nuts. I'm active mostly on cloudy days or at night. It may sound like I'm whining, but I'm not. I know there are there are many worse than me. I'm here to see if something is being overlooked. Something I haven't tried. I'm asking readers to share secrets for coping and new treatments. Get this.....I'm exhausted from typing and need a nap. Thanks for listening. BB

There are no blanket treatments or coping secrets. Each symptom needs to be evaluated individually and treated. It sounds like your primary symptom is migraine. You list generic treatments. Many find that they need to find very specific protocols within each generic specialty.

Just like vitamin regimens. There are specific supplements and doses that are helpful.
