New member. Head injury/mental health advice
Hello
I am a 37 year old female from the UK and have been suffering with anxiety particularly about health for some time now and The episodes are becoming more frequent and more obsessive. I hit my head yesterday morning on the corner of a wooden shelf when I stood up from the floor. It was 2-3 metres from floor to shelf. I hit the top centre of my forehead (just below the hairline) on the corner. It really hurt and I cried partly from shock I think. I didn't lose consciousness or have any symptoms bar a slight indentation from the comer and real soreness and tenderness on the site. A red mark was there too. I felt OK yesterday initially but started getting anxious and began googling. It was then I leant that subacute and chronic hematoma can happen days or even weeks after mild head injuries. Now I'm in a state of panic and am so scared I have this. I have been feeling tired today (anxiety makes me tired though) and I have had a general headache all day (I never get headaches) and shooting pains in my head. The site is still sore and tender to touch but no visible bruises or bumps as such. I can feel my Anxiety spiralling out of control and I am so scared that it was the corner rather than a flat surface and whether the location. On my head is a reason to worry too. I feel weird and on edge and felt panicky last night. Is it mild concussion which is hard to diagnose? Or is it worse? I have a young daughter and I am so scared I will become ill or worse. Any advice about head injuries woud be really appreciated. Thanks |
Hello Aurora123: Welcome to NeuroTalk! :welcome_sign: I'm sorry you had this unfortunate accident. I can't really offer you any advice with regard to this. If you continue to have problems related to your accident, it would probably be best to check with your doctor. In the meantime, I hope you find the time you spend here on NT to be of benefit. :Grin-Nod:
