Brain Injury Cocktail - Reducing Damage

*What would be included in this cocktail? I'm wondering because I have a long life ahead of me; I'm twenty years old. And though I'm protective of my head, I understand that accidents happen.

So far I have: Fish Oil, Curcumin, Flavonoids, NAC (N-acetyl cysteine), B-vitamins, vitamin D, magnesium, and antioxidants (Vitamin C and E).

I take all of these already, minus the Vitamin E. *Another question I have is how important is a multivitamin and mineral for recovery?

A multi-vitamin is valuable to be sure the trace elements are available. Anything that supports good health is good. Eliminating bad foods is worthwhile. Other than the basic list, there is no wide agreement for bad foods. Nightshades, soy, and many other foods are considered bad depending on who you are listening to.

Why no Vit E ?

There are many who claim many more compounds are valuable. The Life Extension and maximize potential community have a long list.

Thanks for the response, Mark!

*Why no vitamin E?* I've been eating nuts, olive oil, salmon, spinach, avocados, broccoli, kale, but I will start taking it.

Do you have a specific multivitamin that you take/recommend?

I was taking this: Vitacost Synergy Once Daily(R) Multi-Vitamin -- 6 Capsules - Vitacost
But my schizoaffective symptoms increased a bit. I can be very sensitive to different supplements.

The Vitacost Synergy looks good. You could try GNC Mega Men. Some times, the brain needs time to adjust to a new supplement.

It is important to not add more than one new supplement or food at the same time. It can leave you guessing what caused a change. My doc suggested a week or two between new additions.
