Went to Kokomo for weekend
I went and spent the weekend with my mom and her young roommate.
Also saw all three of my sister's for at least a small amount of time. One of my sister's and her roommate don't feel to good. So we had a nice quiet weekend. My mom other than only specific kind of chairs that she can get up and down from. Is doing really well. I'm a little worried about her memory but that is for getting old also. Donna :grouphug: |
does her young roommate help her?
sounds like a nice weekend. bizi |
Yes she does. She is also an comfort to us all as to nighttime.
When the electricity went out she got up multiple times in the night to help her make it to the bathroom for example. She will help by cooking at times also. My mom likes to eat out but when no one is available she had to make something easy. She still has her morning help from Comfort Keepers. Which is working pretty good because her roommate just got a job working at one of the schools in the kitchen. Donna :grouphug: |
I'm glad you enjoyed your visit :)
I'm happy that her roommate is there to help your mom, and her home care is still in place and seems to be working out. I'm sure any help and oversight is a big relief to you and your sisters  |
sounds great!.

I really enjoyed having Dobey all weekend. Other than he tired me out.
My job is really getting busy right now. But seems like some really odd situations. Then the parents wont call or email me back. Really makes me wonder if I said something wrong. But I've learned to just let it go. Thank goodness. Then Derrick called me and is to call me back. Issues with things going on at School. Not really sure but think he may have had issues with seizure this morning. Trying to find out if he thinks work will be okay. Life just keeps going. Have a great week and day. Donna :grouphug: |
who is dobey?
sounds like you are doing well. ((((HUGS)))) bizi |
Dobey is Derrick's dog.
Donna :hug::grouphug: |
I hate being in situations where you aren't getting clear signals back from people. It's hard not to take things personally. I'm glad that you have learned to let those things go.
I hope that Derrick's school issues aren't major, and that he is okay, and able to go to work tonight. I know you are busy, but try to take some time to do something nice for yourself. You're always busy taking care of everyone but you  |
Thanks to my grandson spending so much time at his home. I get lots
more time to myself. Which I have really loved. He missed his bus this morning, so I went down and his Step Mom Meluvja and I took him. She can't drive right now because of seizures. Then she and I went to breakfast. She always wants to worry about whether she has money. I paid this morning. But unlike some times with old girlfriend of Devin's she will pay for mine without being asked too. Its really nice. Donna :grouphug: |
That is nice that you paid for her breakfast if she is worried about money.
very nice. (((((HUGS))))) bizi |
It sounds like you have some very nice people in your life Donna

I have been sick since Thursday evening, but feel lots better finally.
I'm pretty sure I had the flu. But I hate to throw up. Especially with Diabetes its not good. If not the flu it was a combination of migraines with other headaches. Nothing much to talk about. My job is keeping me busy for sure. Donna :grouphug: |
sorry you have been sick donna, glad you are on the mend.

By the way I don't know if I've told you guys. I'm going to have another
grandchild in December. And two great nieces in December or January. My mom is really excited also. Three new great grandchildren in a month or two. Donna :grouphug: |
congratulations donna!

New grandchildren and grandnieces!
Happy Days!!! Mari |
That's great news Donna!!! Congratulations!!! :)
You're family will be much bigger soon… I'm glad that you're feeling better, too. |
Gosh, I have a young man named Will turning 10 tomorrow. Were has all the time gone. I look forward to seeing him tomorrow to give his present.
I had a great Saturday took Derrick, to bowl with part of his Special Olympic team. We also went to the K-mart that is closing soon in town. I'm sad, its one of our favorite places to shop. But its a really old store so it makes sense. I will have to see if some of the things I like to buy there I can get in Kokomo. Even though they usually have different things. Some are upset that the lay away is not going to be year round anymore. Luckily it never mattered to me. I picked up lots of the small things and a couple bigger for presents for Christmas for the Baby and its parents. They will have to accept some of theirs this year for it. It cost to much otherwise. I know Kortni will be fine with it. And Danny usually gets all the his things from Dale so that wont matter as much. Donna :grouphug: |
kmart closed here 15 years ago.

We have one Kmart a ways a way, but we lost our local ones a long time ago, too. Sears closed many in the first years after they bought them out. I do really feel badly that the layaway will not be there for the families who depend on it. So many people struggle… I'm glad that your family won't be effected.
I'm glad that Derrick had a good time bowling. It's nice that you share all of these events with him. I hope that Will has a good birthday. 10 is a good age :) |
I have returned from a great meeting. In what used to be my worst
Special education Cooperative. I've attended a couple meetings after the new Director. Its been lots better. I am now having the worst cases in what used to be my best area. So after about 13 years, its gotten progressively worst with the new Director. Who was the assistant under the old one. We will see how my cases turn out. Hoping I can change this. Donna :grouphug: |
donna, what does being your worst cases mean. what makes them bad?
bizi |
Yes, but honestly only because the special education district wasn't doing the right things. Now with their new director things are better.
My other much bigger district for me. Seems to have forgotten how to do what the kids need. Not that I wont be reminding them. They just seem to not be doing things right. Donna :grouphug: |
I'm hoping you can change things for the better, too. I'm glad things seem a little bit better now.
You have a lot of experience, and I have no doubt that you are great at your job, so they should listen to you. My aunt has been a special education teacher for about 35 years, and is constantly frustrated that some of her students don't get the services they need. She also gets very upset with some of the parents. |
Yep, getting frustrated with Parents is nationwide. Some just don't care
as much. Or think they need to come to the meetings. Donna :grouphug: |
getting people to agree with each other.
Donna,
You do the work of a miracle maker by getting various people to agree on a course of action and its implementation in order to help your student. M |

It helped me understand what Donna does better  |
Thanks Mari
Yep, that is what I like to think I do. Donna :grouphug: |
Well not sure what I'm going to do. Have to figure out how I'm getting
places next week. My cars brakes are headed out. My husband has been babying and putting water into his van for weeks. This week he has attempted to fix it three times I think. My van isn't reliable, and its at the mechanics trying to be fixed. It seems like things come in three's any more for me. So I hope the 2nd one this time is all. I had a mammogram today, and I have to have a breast biopsy later in the month. I really can't seem to get a break on these things. I had a feeling I was not getting through this one. But life will keep happening. I have calcium pockets or what ever again. Its were the cancer was last time. Donna :grouphug: |
I am sorry for the return of worry.
(((((HUGS))))) bizi |
Donna,
Good luck with the automobiles. I send prayers for your wellness.:hug::hug: M |
I hope that the results of the mammogram and biopsy show that there is nothing significant to worry about :hug::hug:
I'm sorry you're having transportation problems. That's so inconvenient, frustrating, and can be costly. I hope that you can work things out soon  |
Derrick and Will enjoyed Bowling on Saturday. I enjoyed visiting with
Derrick's provider and my friend Shannon. It was a great time. I don't get to do that very often. Yesterday I just spent the day resting mainly. I've got a really bad cold again. Probably will have to take myself to doctor later this week. We will see. Donna :grouphug: |
Hi, Donna,
That was a good Saturday for the guys. I hope that you have a good day today. M |
I hope you get well soon Donna
|
Looks like I might finally get a granddaughter. Lets hope the ultrasound is correct.
I've been busy.:hug::grouphug: |
