My wife has Winged Scapula
Hi all,
fist of all , please excuse me for my bad english (writing from Portugal) :) last year my wife suffered an work accident and after several months of uncertainty and after several doctors a diagnostic was issued: Long Thoracic nerve injury with winged scapula in right arm. 18 months after the accidente my wife was operated, nerve neurolysis through arthroscopy. Right now, 2 months after surgery, my wyfe is recovering but the signs of recovery are not showing up ... maybe it's too soon. I'm joining this group to get some support, tips/advices on how can i help my wife. I also what to exchange experiencies with other people suffering the same "disease". what sub-forums should i look ? thank you for you support :grouphug: |
Bem-vindo Ruival,
You are doing very well with your English. I am sorry that your wife and family have had to go through so much pain and stress. You will find a lot of understanding here and many kind people. Recovery from nerve surgery of any kind can take months and the swelling from the operation can cause its own problems. I had a nerve repair and neurolysis in my ankle and recovery has been slow, but over time I have regained function and strength and am able to walk and exercise. Hold on to hope and know that there may be good days and bad days for a while. Your wife's doctor should be able to tell you when you can expect to see change. I was told up to a year for everything to settle out. If she isn't getting physical therapy to help regain function, that would be something to pursue. You'll find a forum for TOS here. http://www.neurotalk.org/forum24/ There is also a Search feature at the top of the main forum page to help you look for specific topics. Sending thoughts of healing and recovery, |
