Need info on bladder condition

For years I have had bouts where I will need to get up and pee at night every 1/2 hour. This may last 1 to 4 nights, then abates. I may feel fine for weeks then I'm in trouble again. Recently, I discovered that when I eat sugar, I will have a flare up. Even too much fruit will cause a flare up. I've tested this many times and it is without a doubt the cause of my bladder flare ups. Now I need to know what the heck is going on. All my UTI tests are negative and my doctor doesn't have a clue. Could this be a yeast of fungus problem and how do I get rid of it? I'm really into natural cures. I do find that ACV really helps, but have no idea why.
Any help would be most appreciated.

This is probably silly...

Hi:

Since you mention the sugar connection and frequent urination,
diabetes jumps to mind--not likely, but is there any family history?

The other thing is something I dealt with for years -- classic UTI
symptoms, after being told by an idiot of a doc that it was in my head,
finally went to the urologist. After tests, turned out that my bladder
was not emptying fully and I am not much of a liquid intake person,
the bladder was getting irritated (not an infection). I find that if I
forget to drink water or liquids, then eat something spicy--definitely
sets the bladder burning. (May have been called trigonitis--my
"remembery" is iffy some days.)

Do you have the discomfort? (Prescription for Pyridium or azo-standard
which is OTC are helpful.) My sister swears by the cranberry pills.

I hope you get it figured out, UTI symptoms are so painful, especially
when it isn't really an infection.

Hugs,
Kat

No history of diabetes and Dr. checks for sugar in my blood. You mentioned not consuming enough water? I know I don't drink enough water and with having a prolapsed bladder, my problem may indeed be simply not keeping my bladder flushed well enough. Maybe it is then that sugar irritates it. Hum. You gave me food for thought. Thanks

Hi Landa,
I was just reading your message and wanted to add a couple of things.
If you've got a prolapsed bladder there are a few things that might help with this night time frequency. It's great that you have no blood sugar problems or any urinary tract infections. It's possibly just structural. One thing to keep an eye on would be signs of contipation. Keeping the fluid intake up with water rather than sugary drinks would be good although I don't really understand why consuming sugar would be making it worse.

Something else to do is the Kegel exercizes. Strengthening exercizes they are, for the pelvic floor. You probably would know about Kegel, but I'll post a site about them here.

These exercises often improve bladder control.

Have you had glucose tolerance test?

My blood sugar was always said to be in the "normal" range but when it came down to doing the actual glucose tolerance test, we could see that my glucose tolerance was mildly impaired. I have also had candida and that can cause urinary problems. You still should have your kidneys checked out. You don't have high blood pressure do you?
