Camp Lejeune Contaminated H2O Update Revised

NOTE: This title may be cited as the "Janey Ensminger Act"
Compensation is now available for anyone who served no less than 30 days at Camp Lejeune NC from Aug 1953 to Dec 1987 and has been diagnosed with any of the following 15 illnesses--
esophageal cancer
lung cancer
breast cancer
bladder cancer
kidney cancer
leukemia
multiple myeloma
myleodysplasic syndromes
renal toxicity
hepatic steatosis
female infertility
miscarriage
scleroderma
neurobehavioral effects
non-Hodgkin's lymphoma

VA has determined that the 8 illnesses listed below are "service-connected" as a result of exposure to contaminated drinking water at Camp Lejeune NC.
kidney cancer
liver cancer
non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
leukemia
multiple myeloma
scleroderma
Parkinson's disease
aplastic anemia or other myelodysplastic syndromes
What appears most troublesome in the article is that a VA spokeswoman said compensation awarded as a result of the proposed regulations, if adopted, will "be effective no earlier than the date the final rule is published." It also states--"...any pending claims that might be denied under current regulations will be placed on hold until the VA issues its final rules, according to a department press release." Current law/regulations compel VA to make payment beginning on the date of the veteran's claim. This article kinda seems like VA wants to "subvert" this standard procedure. I hope this isn't the case because I have much to lose.

VA’s proposes rule to consider certain diseases associated with exposure to contaminants in the water supply at Camp Lejeune - VAntage Point It states that VA is in the process of assigning "presumptive status" to the 8 diseases listed below. This is GREAT news because "presumptive status" essentially means that VA won't deny or otherwise fight your claim.
