Passing a Kidney Stone--Narcotics good or bad?

I'm in pain. I believe it can get worse though...

Would narcotics set me back?

I'll take them if need be, but I'd prefer not to take them.

Thanks in advance!

I would think getting the pain relief is better than the overload of stress chemicals from the pain.

Just take the minimum to cut the pain.

Ouch.......................

There are some online recipes for tonics that can help dissolve those that do not pass. It take time and for some may need to become a ritual as a preventative.

My wife deals with stones so she uses a kidney stone tonic.

There are some body building supplements that can cause kidney stones.

Thanks for the response, Mark! I really appreciate you.

I'm back home after a visit to the ER. Small stones--should clear up soon. Didn't need narcotics, thankfully.

Yes, the stones likely will be something I face in the future as well. Hopefully not any time soon again though.

Worst pain in my life.

I had them 2 weeks after my head surgery...ER HAD ME WAIT 5 hours on my return after a mis diagnosis by the doc earlier in the evening.

The nurse told me, after the doc chewed her out in front of me, he was wrong and I should come back when it got to bad again. 1/2 hour after dismissed I couldn't stand it again so I returned for my 5 hour wait.
