Not Sure Where To Post This
 

I am new to Forums and not sure that this is the right place to post my questions.

Anyway, I've always thought the shooting pain down my left leg and the pain in my low back area were the result of spinal stenosis, spondylosis and/or multilevel degenerative disease. 10 years ago a Laminectomy failed and since that time numerous epidurals, PTs, Meds and everything else short of another surgery have given little or no relief. In fact, the pain, now, and for at least the last 12 months, has increased to the point where I can hardly stand on the left leg. And, in recent months, there has been some numbness and tingling noted in this area.

What's really confusing, is the latest EMG/NCV (06/06/07) indicated Sensory Motor Demyelinating Neuropathy with NO evidence of lumbosacral radiculopathy on either side.

This differed from an EMG/NCV 18 months earlier, by another doc, where I first learned of a Peripheral Neuropathy condition, but his report also indicated Acute S1 Radiculopathy and Chronic L4 Radiculopathy on the left side.

So, I'm trying hard to understand what these discrepancies mean, and what's really going on here. And also, how one can detect the differences, if there is any, between neuropathy pain and pain resulting from lumbosacral radiculopathy.

As mentioned before, the Pain Clinic has offered only the Spinal Cord Stimulation implant as an option but could not or would not answer these questions.

Hopefully, someone out there has experienced similar conditions and can help me understand what's going on here. And also, maybe someone has had a spinal cord stimulation implant and can share their experiences with that.
