dental procedure and antibiotics

I'm going to have a periodontal procedure in two weeks time and was prescribed the antibiotic Amoxicillin 500 mg to combat any potential bacterial infection. Is this safe :confused:

Cipro is the one Black Boxed for MG

That group of antibiotics can have neurological side effects, so stay away from them. Everything else seems to be OK, though.
