New year Agenda

Hello folks,

God bless u all..I am Parth, 32 m. i started my new life before 2 years. I was having Tobacco and Alcohol addiction. I went through quite hard times in my life while battling with my addiction.

Its all started with my friends in 2012, i didn't knew where this path will go. The day I realized in 2014 when I saw my friend's father in deathbed due to mouth cancer. It was insanely horrible and I changed my mind.

I quit my Tobacco (dip) and smoking addiction from 2 years now. But I am not able to quit alcohol completely. I am able to drop alcohol intake tremendously ( around 180ml in 1 month, previously i was drinking about everyday)

I want to quit alcohol completely from coming year 2017. Any suggestions please welcome.

~Parth

Hi Parth

Welcome to NeuroTalk :).

Well done for deciding to stop drinking!

I found that "one step at a time" was the way to go, especially in the early days of dealing with my alcohol abuse.

Christmas/New Year can be a hard time for those of us with alcohol abuse issues because of all the social events where alcohol is prominent.

What plans do you think might work for you at these social events?

All the best.

180ml per month? I don't think you have a drinking problem at all :)

Try drinking something carbonated instead, it tricks the brain into thinking it is getting what it wants....

@kiwi33 thanks for your reply, i will be at home with my family(no drinkers in my family). I'll be cooking something special for them and I decided not to go anywhere with any of the friend of mine on christmas and new years Eve. I believe this way is most simple one.

@Icehouse thanks! I want to quit alcohol completely. I am trying so hard but sometimes I failing to achieve it. I want to live without alcohol.
