I drink a lot of fluids during the day....pain meds question
Can drinking too many fluids during the day (and nights sometimes ! ) cause my ER Morphine not to work as well ?
Am I just peeing my meds out ? I have a glass of something with me all day long. Thanks Debi From Georgia |
I can't say I know the answer to that for sure. However, It would make sense to me that you would be flushing out some of the medication.
I use to work with teens and when it came time for their drug testing g they would drink gallons of water to flush out their system. The one thing that may be different with you is the extended relief factor. Wish I could answer your question definitely. Your pharmacist would be a good person to pose that question to. |
Possibly??

I doubt your fluid intake is affecting your morphine.
Here is an article about absorption and excretion of morphine and its metabolites: Morphine Drinking to much fluids can deplete sodium however, and lead to hyponatremia.
