Weakness

Hi:

My name is Denise and I am new to this site today. I ran across it while doing research for Myasthenia Gravis. I am 57 yrs. old and for as long as I can remember I have felt unwell and have a plethora of symptoms which never go away. I recently have been suffering from extreme hunger, even after I have eaten and I am very weak and exhausted. I need 10 hours or so of sleep each night. My eyes are very droopy, and I have what looks like a hooded eye (not sure if this is normal aging, but I think not).

I gasp at night, it is involuntary and I have no control of it. I have only taken a Pulmonary Function test twice and I remember having some difficulty with it. I do not smoke or have asthma. I believe I have shallow breathing. I have noticed it is hard for me to smile because it takes great effort and so does singing. I have a soft voice. I totter a lot and have to catch myself from falling (fairly new symptom - within last few years), have balance problems and now recently I am bumping into things and have problems with coordination. I have had frozen shoulders on both sides and have been treated extensively. It has taken 5 years for them to both return to normal however I have weakness in the arms and it is hard to do anything where I have to put my arms up for any length of time. I was diagnosed many years ago with fibromyalgia but always thought something else was going on. I don't quite fit the whole profile for it but today I am wondering if I have Myasthenia Gravis, or have had it all along. I was wondering if anyone else has these same symptoms? I would appreciate anyone's opinion. I do have a doctor's appointment set for the end of the month.

Thank you for your time.
