Chorea

Hello, My 10 yr old son with ASD went to the Neurologist last week, and they think he might have Chorea. His ENT recently diagnosed him with Spasmodic Dysphonia, which is what led us to the Neurologist. I never noticed any problems with his movements until the Neurologist had him hold out his hands, and I noticed they were moving a lot, almost as if he were playing the piano .The movements are only in his hands. I've been researching it a lot and some of the causes seem quite scary. He had a brain MRI last week and the results said he has a slightly decreased size of his cerebellum. I asked the Dr. if this could be related to the Chorea but he said it wasn't.He also has Autism so I don't know if it could related to that or not. He still has to have blood work as well as see a Cardiologist, Ophthalmologist, and Genetics Dr. to rule out other causes. I was just wondering if anyone else has been through this with their kids , or if anyone has any idea of what may be causing this.

Thank you!
-Christina
