Slammed on brake going 11 MPH

Hey,

Ive had a fairly extensive history with concussions and never fully recovered from the last one, but im generally able to lead a normal enough life.

Yesterday I was in a car that was driving 11 MPH and the var was put in "park", which completely slammed the break and caused me to swing forward with the seat belt locking because of the force. I felt off right after that, and this morning I woke up feeling off again. Im concerned about the possibility of more damage being done. What are the chances that something bad has happened? Thanks

The car was shifted into park at 11 mph??
It could ruin the transmission..... rough on the car for sure..
Shifting like that doesn't actually put the brakes on , it is using the transmission to stall/stop a car..unless the person driving hits the brakes also..

Most likely some neck & soft tissue affected, due to the seatbelt & jerking.
Treat for sore muscles and see how it goes..

As Jo*Mar said, this could cause a whiplash like neck strain. It would not cause a brain injury.

The car could have transmission damage to a part called the Park Pawl. Park may not work properly, like when the car is parked on a hill. The transmission should be checked for proper function of Park.

Park does not apply the brakes. It just puts the transmission in Neutral and locks the Output Shaft so it will not turn.

How do you know the speed was 11 mph ?

Ok. I think the car is ok, so dont worry about that :p. Really im just worried about some damage being done to the brain, but based on what ive read here, that sounds unlikely.

I was just estimating the speed to be 11 MPH. Could be a bit more or less. Thanks
