Possible Oroantral, Oronasal Fistula or both - Bryanna can you please answer?

Hi Bryanna,

Can you please answer which teeth in the upper jaw after extraction are most likely and those that could lead (still possible but less likely) to an oroantral fistula, an oronasal fistula or possibly both? My wife had tooth #12 extracted about 6 months ago and it appears that this socket/surrounding bone has still not healed as shown on the latest CBCT (axial and sagittal views). At least from the angle, it appears the roots of #12 prior to extraction (and even the canine #11) seemed to be extending quite a bit past the anterior side or line of where the bone under the nose comes down to the left vs. the posterior where the sinus line comes down to the right. There is still unilateral swelling and symptoms which seem to have worsened in the past 6 months (#13 thru #15 already had been extracted more than two years ago and seemed to heal alright). Trying to determine if there might be an oronasal fistula, oroantral fistula, or possibly both (overlapping) due to the proximity to both the anterior and posterior areas and the long history with this tooth. Thanks.
